  • IMPLEMENTATION

  • DATA ANALYSIS

Each business must be on its own climate action journey, as well as contributing to the wider effort. We must build a detailed picture of the emissions of our business members, where there are gaps in support and what steps to take first to have the biggest impact.

  • CCCA BASELINE ASSESSMENT

Once businesses sign up to the Green Loop Climate Plan, the only imperative is that they undergo at least a basic assessment by the Camden Climate Change Alliance. We will receive some key recommendations of areas to focus on, and where the business should consider more detailed exploration before the business starts to implement initiatives.

  • INFORMATION CONSOLIDATION

An official partnership with the Camden Climate Change Alliance creates an automatic gateway to joining the Green Loop Climate Plan. The BIDs will analyze results of the assessment with the business and help them to develop a customised plan. A list of delivery and academic partners will be made available to the business so that they can easily access support and advice.

  • EMPOWERED BUSINESS COMMUNITY

A business and employee community pulling together towards clear objectives on a path to reducing their impact on the environment. This includes staff who understand processes such as recycling, choose active travel wherever possible and act to reduce food waste.

  • GREEN LOOP NETWORK

The Green Loop Climate Network provides the framework for a connected community of businesses to share knowledge and resources, partner up on initiatives and seek funding. These businesses connect at events, and benefit from accessing consolidated resources and delivery partners.

  • KNOWLEDGE HUB & EVENTS

Centralise the relevant guidance within one web page, customized to our business network. Measure support for certain measures and enact lobbying which will make business action easier and more affordable. Build a network membership base who are invited to attend training, meet one another and share experiences.

  • TACKLING BUSINESS ENERGY EMISSIONS

Enable businesses to improve energy efficiency of buildings that reduce the cost of operating as well as their impact on the environment. Staff are aware of measures to reduce energy use, businesses are exploring retrofitting and alternative clean energy sources, and the buildings use energy efficient light bulbs and automatic controllers.

  • CLEAN POWER CAMPAIGN

Facilitate businesses switching to clean energy sources such as windfarms or solar panels. Explore potential partnerships that allow businesses to buy windfarm shares or community energy sources therefore paying for and creating their own green energy, could save 1.1million KG of Co2 every year.

  • CLEAN ENERGY HUB

Use engagement events at Camden Collective to introduce windfarm and solar energy concepts. The BIDs will facilitate linking businesses to clean energy providers, and develop a summary of information, providers and regulations. Businesses working on energy efficiency must undertake energy audits at milestones to assess their impact.

  • LOCAL & SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT

A business community which actively seeks local products and services, enabling businesses to use zero emissions transportation for deliveries. Businesses benefit from the increase in custom, there is greater connectivity among owners and a reduction in vehicles on the roads. Ingredients and products are noticeably more in season or locally characterised.

  • NEIGHBOURHOOD ECO-SYSTEM

Create a customiseable map which identifies the services and products available in the neighbourhoods. Engage with businesses to ensure they are aware of nearby providers, and support them in making procurement changes to reduce delivery vehicles and shape their offer around seasonal, local produce.

  • MAPPING AND CONNECTING

Assess one sector in the neighbourhoods to start with, and run a questionnaire to ascertain where their produce comes from and where there are overlaps. Use Cross River Partnership’s expertise to help businesses switch to local providers. Work with Camden Council to promote where there are gaps in the high street, and what type of businesses should be sought to ensure a diverse local offer.
