• PRINCIPLE

  • PROJECT

  • IMPLEMENTATION

  • EDUCATION

An empowered community who make ambitious changes, equipped with knowledge and the support of a clear and organized network. Individuals and businesses make their concerns known to local overarching organisations such as CTU/Euston Town, who in turn lobby on their behalf.

  • GREEN LOOP CLIMATE COMMUNITY

Green Loop Climate Community invites both businesses and residents to join and share knowledge and experiences. By connecting they are able to build joint objectives, project ideas and lobbying topics.

  • DATA

Start with a questionnaire sent to databases and promoted on social media, capturing the areas local people feel lack focus or progress. Those who respond are invited to become a member of the Climate Community so we can start to build a group of voices representative of the diverse local community. Host creative events that entice people to join the knowledge sharing.

  • VOLUNTEERING

Active and proposed projects are matched with volunteer opportunities, which brings maintenance costs down and encourages locals to foster a sense of responsibility and ownership. Volunteering is managed by the project organisation and promoted as good practice in neighbourhood management and greening.

  • CLIMATE NETWORKERS

CTU and Euston Town develop a group of volunteers who are engaged in their local communities and can be called upon for one-off or regular maintenance works. The opportunities are promoted through partners, and new volunteers are added to a network managed by us.

  • VOLUNTEER MATCHING

Using CTU and Euston Town public realm projects, we will engage local people and employees with the opportunities of volunteer days. Local partnerships will be essential – Camden Giving, Global Generation and Somers Town Community Association are examples of authentic routes in to communities. The BIDs can use their own contacts to reach employees. Days and opportunities should be celebrated on socials.

  • COMMUNICATIONS

An imaginative, vibrant and contemporary brand is built to represent the Climate Action Plan. It incorporates social media assets and graphics which businesses proudly display on their websites to show their achievements and progress.

  • CLIMATE ACTION PLAN LAUNCH

Launch a high-profile campaign which ties in various public realm projects of CTU and Euston Town under the Green Loop umbrella. Use the launch to build a cohesive narrative, attract coverage and position our business community as taking proactive measures to change.

  • PRESS AND BRAND PARTNERSHIPS

Commission graphic designers to develop a climate action plan brand pack which is distributed to active members. Partner with a comms agency to launch the Green Loop as a place-shaping strategy, with the Climate Action Plan a key focus.

  • TRANSPARENCY

Climate change and local air quality data is displayed in an accessible and transparent way, with detail such as the source of a particular spike in pollution being easy to read. Local stakeholders are motivated to make changes that will have an impact, which they will see via data.

  • BUILDING PUBLIC SUPPORT

Display climate change messaging as artistic interventions (linked with our Culture Strategy) such as projections or a mural. Include a QR code which takes the viewer to a sliding scale mechanism – they can see how climate interventions impact various measures (air quality, water levels, cost to NHS), and to what extent.

  • ART INSPIRING ACTION

Partner with Camden Clean Air Initiative to adopt air quality monitors and share analysed data, helping to inform future projects and lobbying. Work with Kings College to develop the data and create the sliding scale function, hosted on the Action Plan website. Identify locations for installations with Camden Council.
